Get inspiration for Mexican dinner

Mexican food for dinner offers a colorful and flavorful experience, characterized by fresh ingredients, spicy dishes and a wealth of textures. Typical ingredients like corn, beans, chili, cilantro, lime and avocado form the basis of many dishes. Classic dishes like tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas are popular as they are easy to prepare and can be varied according to taste and preference. They are often served with side dishes such as guacamole, salsa, and sour cream to add extra flavor and freshness.

If you’re looking for inspiration for Mexican dinner, here are some suggestions ranging from quick dishes to those that require a little more time.

Easy Mexican dishes:

  • Tacos are an easy choice with fillings like chicken, beef or beans, served with salsa, guacamole and cheese.
  • Quesadillas consists of tortillas with melted cheese and optional fillings, fried crispy in a pan.
  • Nachos can be baked in the oven with cheese, jalapeños and meat or beans, and served with dips like guacamole and sour cream.
  • Mexican rice with tomatoes and spices is a great side dish.
  • Tortilla soup is a simple tomato and chili soup topped with tortilla chips and avocado.

Slightly more time-consuming Mexican dishes:

  • Enchiladas are tortillas filled with meat or beans, baked in the oven with chili sauce and cheese. See our chicken enchiladas recipe here
  • Tamales are stuffed corn dough wrapped in corn leaves and steamed.
  • Pozole is a traditional pork and corn soup served with fresh toppings.
  • Fajitas consist of fried strips of marinated meat and vegetables served with warm tortillas.
  • Chiles Rellenos are stuffed chili peppers, deep fried and served with tomato sauce.

Mexican food for parties

Mexican food is great food for a party, especially if you want to try something new and aren’t afraid of spicy food. For a small party, you might enjoy homemade tortillas and tacos. Psst real Mexican tacos are soft delicious corn tortillas and not taco shells. – You can’t eat them!

Tortillas and tacos can be difficult to prepare for a large party as they can’t be made in advance. Therefore, enchiladas, mole and salsa verde are dishes or side dishes to put on the table. It’s sure to impress with delicious authentic dishes with products imported from Mexico.

Mexican food vegetarian

Mexicans are good at making dishes that are either completely meat-free or where meat can be replaced with beans or other vegan ingredients. Dishes like echiladas, tamales or tacos can easily be made without meat and add filling vegetables like cactus nopales, huitlacoche or beans.

Authentic Mexican food

Mexican cuisine is the summation of centuries of culinary art. It is the summation of the world’s agriculture, ancient perfected skills and culinary techniques.

Authentic Mexican food is often characterized by the use of corn, beans and chilies and is based on making the most of ingredients and flavors. This is expressed in dishes with simple ingredients and expressive flavors. This can be seen in the use of chili, where Mexican cuisine works with the flavor notes of chili rather than its strength.

At Mexican Heart, we work with suppliers in Mexico to bring the best products to Denmark so that we can enjoy the taste of Mexico with authentic products.
