Tortillas can be made with both blue and white corn flour. The blue corn gives a slightly softer flavor compared to the white. Should you want to make your own tortillas from blue corn, Naturel has a really delicious corn flour for you.

Here’s how to make your own delicious tortillas: 1 cup flour and 1.25 cups warm water, pour the flour into a bowl and add the water slowly while kneading the dough until it stops sticking (you may not need all the water), let the dough rest for 2 hours while covered with cling film in the fridge, knead the dough again and then make 50 gram balls that you flatten (about 2mm) in your tortilla press or with your paper towel. Finally, heat a frying pan on maximum heat, when it’s hot turn the heat down to 3 and place your tortillas on the pan. When the surface changes color and becomes a bit dry, turn it over and after 30 – 50 seconds it’s done and your homemade tortillas are ready.
